Third Monorail Line Would Connect Magic Kingdom to Grand Floridian It was announced today that a third monorail track will be added to the Magic Kingdom Resort loop. The new line will connect only the Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian. A lone monorail train will make the trek back and forth between the two stops. This week social media was set ablaze with reports of one of the doors on Walt Disney World’s iconic monorail system being stuck in the open position as it was traveling to Epcot. Monorail expansion. No two words have ever elicited more excitement and speculation from Disney World fanatics. Do an online search for “Monorail Expansion” and you’ll see the countless rumors of Disney’s plan to expand the monorail. Keep searching, and you will find an equal number of articles explaining why Disney will never upgrade their monorails.
