A family has announced plans that tomorrow they will opt for a quick breakfast at Starring Rolls Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This move comes as a shock to industry insiders who all reported earlier in the week that the family was a lock for the Hollywood & Vine breakfast buffet.
Speaking to reporters outside his Port Orleans Riverside hotel room, Timothy Jackson, husband and father of two said that the decision was not an easy to one to make.
“It was a difficult decision,” Jackson whispered to reporters, so that he did not wake his daughters. “My kids want to be among the first in line for [Toy Story] Midway Mania, so I figured this was the quickest way to get fueled up for the day.”
When reporter from a different Disney fan site asked what they were going to order, Jackson declined to mention specifics.
“We’ll stare at the menu for a little bit but I think ultimately it’s going to come down to what looks good that day,” Jackson said.
Many industry insiders are questioning Jackson’s decision and whether it’s the best for his family. The main concern being whether a small bakery item will be enough to fuel the children until lunch.
“My first thought was, ‘will this be enough?’,” said Ron Glazer, Chief Culinary Decisions Analyst for Orlando Weekly magazine. “I think those kids are going to be begging for food long before their 1:00 reservations at Sci-Fi and when he buys some snacks, it will spoil their lunch. He can’t possibly come out on top here.”
We spoke to our own Jill Nadine, TyphoidLagoon’s Nutritionist to gather her thoughts on the matter.
“First and foremost, I think it’s a poor choice to have a muffin or an eclair over a good hearty breakfast,” Nadine said. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so you want to make sure you get some solid protein in the form of eggs and energy in the form of fruit like a banana or cantaloupe.”
Many people have been following the story online and have been quick to criticize Jackson’s decision.
“I love Starring Rolls as much as the next guy,” Thomas Jefferson Geronimo III, an unemployed theme park blogger writes. “But use it IN ADDITION TO breakfast, not IN PLACE OF it. Rookie mistake.”
Jackson took to Twitter to defend his decision shortly after he spoke to reporters.
“We had a big dinner at Whispering Canyon Café. We don’t think our stomachs can handle another large meal. Pls understand.” @DizneeDaddy45 tweeted.
Time will tell if this decision backfires for Jackson and his family or if this leaves them with just enough appetite to enjoy a lunch at Sci-Fi restaurant.
